Vitalik Shows Public Support for Milady NFTs After Adopting a Milady-Themed Profile Picture.

On April 1, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin attended the ETHTaipei event wearing a mask inspired by the Milady NFT collection, drawing widespread attention.

This move has reignited discussions surrounding the Milady project. Launched in 2021, the Milady NFT collection is an Ethereum-based series known for its "neochibi" aesthetic and its appeal to meme culture. In May 2023, Elon Musk publicly endorsed Milady NFTs by sharing an image from the Milady Maker collection on Twitter. However, the project faced a significant backlash when its founder, Charlotte Fang, was accused of promoting extremist content and being linked to a "cyber suicide cult" originating from 4chan. These revelations led to a 60% price drop in Milady NFTs over a single weekend.

Earlier this year, in January, Vitalik Buterin changed his profile picture on X to a Milady NFT. This move was widely interpreted as an informal endorsement of the project, reigniting industry interest in the collection.

By publicly showcasing a Milady-inspired mask at ETHTaipei, Vitalik has further solidified his apparent support for the project, making it one of the highlights of the event. His association with Milady could be seen as a signal of broader acceptance of unconventional NFT projects within the Ethereum community.
